The goal of Best of Reston is to honor individuals, organizations and businesses that have put forth tremendous effort in their commitment to community service, excellence and involvement. The Awards and Gala are produced in partnership by Reston Interfaith and the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. Winners of the 2011 Best of Reston Awards will be publicly announced at a joint event. They will be formally honored at the Best of Reston Gala at the Hyatt Regency Reston. Proceeds from the Best of Reston event benefit the programs of Reston Interfaith, a nonprofit organization that provides essential human services to individuals and families in Northern Virginia.

Taste of Reston
June 18-19, 2011
The most widely attended event in Reston's Town Center.  Over two decades of experience contribute to the more than 60,000 attendees who stream down Market Street sampling the best the Greater Reston area restaurants have to offer as well as selected merchants and businesses who want to display their wares.  Attendees enjoy sampling the finest “tastes” from more than 30 local restaurants, live music, wine and beer gardens, a carnival, the Gun n' Hoses Chili Cook-Off, and The Family Fun Zone with games and activities for the kids.

Chamber Cup Golf Classic

The annual golf tournament held at a premier area Country Club. A long-standing tradition at the Chamber with a perpetual plaque for winning teams.  Sponsorship and financial support help to fund the Tracey M. White Scholarship Fund benefiting seniors from South Lakes and Herndon High Schools who are hoping to further their education in pursuit of a career in business. 

Government Contracting & Loan Fair
This annual Government Contracting Forum’s mission is to bring together the private and public sectors, large and small, to develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. A new federal administration, new agency appointments, new policies, new priorities and reduced budgets will make federal government contracting even more challenging in 2011. Both major political parties support expanded opportunities for small and minority owned businesses which will likely result in even greater pressure to reach into these communities. With over 50,000 women and minority owned small businesses in Fairfax County, finding qualified small business partners can be a daunting task. Oktoberfest Reston

Ethics Day
Ethics Day is a joint project with South Lakes High School’s senior class that has received considerable national recognition. The entire class is taken off-site for a day of immersion in workshops and discussions covering ethical decision-making scenarios for careers and everyday life. Every one of the 600+ High School Seniors will participate in a program in each room, rotating throughout the day.
