What is it really like to ride a rocket into space? Or more aptly, what is it really like to pilot a rocket into space? Commander Pamela Melroy, pilot of two missions to the international space station and only the second female Shuttle Commander with the recent successful completion of the STS-120 mission last November. Commander Melroy has been a USAF C-17 test pilot, flew combat missions in the 1991 Gulf War and has space walked numerous times. She will share stories of her three space flights with us and what it's really like up there looking back at earth.
